The Demons of Carpi: Exorcism, Witchcraft, and the Inquisition in a Seventeenth-Century Convent

Abstract: ZUSAMMENFASSUNG In den späten 1630er Jahren gerieten vierzehn Frauen im Kloster Santa Chiara in Carpi bei Modena aufgrund ihres merkwürdigen Verhaltens in Verdacht, vom Teufel besessen zu sein.
