The cutaneous lupus erythematosus disease activity and severity index: Expansion for rheumatology and dermatology

Abstract: Objective. To evaluate the validity of the Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus Disease Area and Severity Index (CLASI) for use by rheumatologists via reliability testing, and to extend the validation for dermatologists. Methods. Fourteen subjects with cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE; n ‫؍‬ 10), a mimicker skin disease only (a cutaneous lesion that may appear clinically similar to CLE; n ‫؍‬ 1), or both (n ‫؍‬ 3) were rated with the CLASI by academic-based dermatologists (n ‫؍‬ 5) and rheumatologists (n ‫؍‬ 5). “…Выделяют СКВ-специфичные (острые, подост-рые, хронические и интермиттирующие) и СКВ-неспеци-фичные кожные проявления [51,52]. Для оценки кожных изменений при СКВ и их динамики рекомендовано исполь-зование индекса Cutaneous Lupus Disease Area and Severity (CLASI), позволяющего качественно и количественно опи-сать поражение кожных покровов [52].…”

“…The Cutaneous Lupus Disease Activity and Severity Index (CLASI) is a validated cutaneous outcome measure for SLE that assesses both the activity and damage of cutaneous SLE lesions. First validated for use by dermatologists (2), the CLASI validation extension to rheumatology has been recently published in this journal (3). It was also recently presented in poster form at the 71st Annual Scientific Meeting of the American College of Rheumatology, Boston, MA, November 2007.…”
