The complete mitogenome of the wood-feeding cockroachCryptocercus kyebangensis(Blattodea: Cryptocercidae) and phylogenetic relations among cockroach families

Abstract: The complete mitogenome of the subsocial wood-eating cockroach Cryptocercus kyebangensis was sequenced and compared with that of another Asian cockroach, Cryptocercus relictus and the primitive termite Mastotermes darwiniensis. The complete mitogenome of C. kyebangensis is a closed circular molecule of 15,720 bp, containing13 protein-coding genes, two ribosomal RNA genes (12S rRNA and 16S rRNA), 22 transfer RNA genes, and one D-loop region. Nucleotide composition of the C. kyebangensis mitogenome shows an AT b… Show more

“…The voucher specimen (MUMUNI-1) was deposited in the Wildlife and Fish Conservation Center of the Institute of Forest Science, Kangwon National University. Genomic DNA extraction, PCR and genome annotation were conducted according to the previous studies (Yoon et al 2013;Jeon and Park 2015). A previously published mitogenome of M. nivalis (NC_020639) was used as a reference for gene annotation and primer design.…”

“…The voucher specimen (MUMELE-1) was deposited in the National Park Research Institute, Korea National Park Service. Genomic DNA extraction, PCR, and gene annotation were conducted according to the previous studies (Yoon et al 2013;Jeon and Park 2015;Rahman et al 2016). Previously published mitogenomes of the Eurasian M. meles (AM711900) (Arnason et al 2007) and Japanese M. anakuma (AB291075) (Yonezawa et al 2007) were used as references for gene annotation and primer design for PCR amplification of the Korean M. leucurus.…”
