The complete mitochondrial genome of Dixella sp. (Diptera: Nematocera, Dixidae)

Abstract: In the present paper, the first complete mitochondrial genome of the family Dixidae is reported. The complete mitochondrial genome of Dixella sp. is a circular molecule of 15,574 bp in length, containing all 37 genes including 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs), 2 ribosomal RNA genes (srRNA and lrRNA), and a long control region. Its gene arrangement is conserved with the ancestral gene order of Drosophila yakuba, which is considered to exhibit the ground pattern of Hexapoda mitochond… Show more

“…The nearly complete mitogenome of T. yixianensis is 15,595 bp. It encoded 13 PCGs, 22 tRNA genes, and 2 rRNA genes and the control region could not be sequenced entirely in this study, and were similar with related reports before (Kang et al 2016;Li et al 2016;Li et al 2017;Zhou et al 2017;Gao et al 2018). All genes have the similar locations and strands with that of other published Empididae species.…”

“…The mitochondrial genome of Eristalis tenax contains all 37 genes, which include 22 transfer RNA genes, 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), two ribosomal RNA genes and non-coding control region, and were similar with related reports before (Kang et al 2014;Li et al 2016;Wang, Ding, et al 2016;, Wang, Liu, et al 2016Li et al 2017;Zhou et al 2017). Twenty-three genes of all genes were encoded by the majority strand (J-strand) and the other fourteen genes were encoded by the minority strand (N-strand).…”

It encoded 13 PCGs, 22 tRNA genes, two rRNA genes and the control region could not be sequenced entirely in this study and were similar with related reports before (Kang et al 2016;Li et al 2016;Wang, Liu, et al 2016;Li et al 2017;Zhou et al 2017;Qilemoge, Gao, et al 2018;Qilemoge, Zhang, et al 2018;Hou et al 2019;Qilemoge et al 2019). The nucleotide composition of the mitogenome was biased toward A and T, with 67.6% of A þ T content (A ¼ 37.8%, T ¼ 29.9%, C ¼ 20.8%, and G ¼ 11.6%).…”
