The complete chloroplast genome of Rumex hastatus D. Don and its phylogenetic analysis

Abstract: Rumex hastatus D. Don is a perennial shrub, which is distributed in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the southwest of China. The complete chloroplast (cp) genome is 158,985 bp in length with an overall GC content of 37.4% containing a large single copy (LSC) region of 85,050 bp, a small single copy (SSC) region of 12,995 bp, and a pair of inverted repeats (IRs) region of 30,470 bp. Totally, 126 unique genes were predicted, including 81 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA genes, and eight ribosomal RNA genes. Phylogenetic … Show more

“…is constantly being refined. The reason for such changes is the revision of the knowledge on individual genera and/or the emergence of new phylogenetic data [ 31 , 33 ]. Often, these findings are contradictory, and there is a need for additional tools that can clarify the relations among the plants of the Polygonaceae Juss.…”

“…(Wu et al 2003). The wind‐dispersed species belongs to the subgenus Acetosa and shows a close phylogenetic relationship to R. acetosa (Schuster et al 2015, Yang et al 2020). Rumex hastatus exhibits a disjunct distribution pattern comprising two main centers of occurrence in the western HIM and the HDM, and does not occur in between, which makes it suitable to address the potential barrier function of the eastern HIM, where rainfall is extremely abundant due to the South Asian monsoon (SAM).…”
