The complete chloroplast genome of Allium ovalifolium var. leuconeurum, an endemic plant in Southwest China

Abstract: Allium ovalifolium var. leuconeurum is an endemic plant in Southwest China. The complete chloroplast genome sequence of A. ovalifolium var. leuconeurum was generated by de novo assembly using highthroughput sequencing. The length of chloroplast genome was 153,635 bp in length, containing a large-single copy region (LSC) of 82,693 bp, a small-single copy region (SSC) of 17,932 bp, and a pair of inverted repeats (IRa and IRb) regions of 26,505 bp. The genome contains 132 genes, including 86 protein-coding genes,… Show more

“…The complete chloroplast (cp) genomes are reliable elements for deducing phylogeny and evolutionary history deriving from highly conserved gene structure and gene content, and the cp genomes are short of recombination with low mutation rate 8 . Recently, many cp genomes have been extensively applied for phylogenetic reconstruction, and especially in Allium species [9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17] . However, these researches were carried out according to a particular section.…”
