“…These findings were further supported by Almgren and Rangelov who reported cubic nanostructured particles from aqueous dispersions of GMO (RYLO MG 90) in water, using DDP-PEG (DDP(EO) 52 or DDP(EO) 92 ) as the steric stabilizer [206]. However, cubosomes were also identified with an additional cubic phase Q 229 , with Im3m space group.…”

“…In addition, MGE was not recommended to prepare LC dry powder at a concentration of 20 or above. Zeta potential is an important parameter for the evaluation of stability and bio-distribution 18,19 . By increasing the MGE concentration, the particle size tended to be smaller and the zeta potential became more negative Table 3 , suggesting that the number of LC forming particles was increased with an increasing of MGE concentration.…”

“…One of the strategies to formulate this compound is as cubosomes, which are discrete, submicron, nanostructured particles of bicontinuous cubic liquid crystalline phase which are able to incorporate large amounts of drugs or actives [47]. A recent study has demonstrated that the formulation of ALA in cubosome dispersion has excellent results in reducing facial lines with almost complete resolution of fine lines in the periorbital region and upper lip area and an overall improvement in skin color and texture in most volunteers [48]. Table 1 shows different studies demonstrating that the use of nanoformaulation enhances the skin delivery of antioxidants.…”
