The aim of this study is for teachers to be able to implement the IKM program, especially in implementing differentiated learning strategies at the junior high school level in Banjarbaru City, because this is one of the core academic competencies of the IKM program that teachers need to master. This study uses an as-sociative method, with a descriptive approach, and the type of research is quantitative. The associative method is a research method that aims to determine the influence or reciprocal relationship between two or more variables. In this study, the associative method was used to determine the effect of implementing differentiated learning strategies on teacher performance, school culture, and learning quality. Methods and data collection instruments in the form of interactive interviews, training observations, documentation studies, and feedback questionnaires on training activities, related to how teachers strategies in formulating learning outcomes, becoming learning objectives, and how to achieve these differentiated learning objectives. The results show that there is a positive influence of applying differentiated learning strategies between teacher performance and school culture, while there is no significant effect on the quality of learning. The teachers have been able to emphasize differentiated learning strategies that are centered on student learning outcomes, where to find out student learning achievements, teachers have been able to carry out formative assessments at the beginning of learning.

The Phenomena of Learning Loss Experienced by Elementary School Students during the Covid-19 Post Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic caused most students to experience learning loss after joining online learning for almost 2 years. Learning loss is a student's condition experiencing learning setbacks academically due to the factors of the non-sustainable educational process. The study aimed at analyzing the learning loss phenomenon experienced by elementary school students in the COVID-19 post-pandemic situation. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach. The population of the study was 401,321 distributed students, and the sample was gained through conducting two sampling techniques, such as random cluster sampling and accidental sampling, with a final sample of 1,104 students. The data collection methodologies conducted were interview, observation, and questionnaire. The questionnaire used contained 15 questions that had been validated before. The data analysis of the study was conducted interactively using 3 techniques, such as data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The descriptive analysis was conducted by using the Guttman scale with the percentage statistic technique. The result of the study showed that there were learning loss phenomena in the post-pandemic situation, a condition seen from the researched dimensions in the low and medium categories. Moreover, a high level of learning loss was found in the rural area. This was observed from several things, such as the learning facilities provided, the parent's role, and the learning methodologies conducted. To resolve learning loss, we need to participate all parties in the learning process, which in this context means mending a good relationship with the community and parents to improve the learning quality, which is assisted with innovative learning models. This phenomenological study explores the experiences, motivations, and challenges of students at Universitas Negeri Makassar engaging in DIY (Do-It-Yourself) English language learning and practice. The research aims to gain insights into self-directed language learning and provide valuable information for educational practices and policies in the university context. A purposeful sample of 15-20 students, representing a diverse range of experiences, was selected to participate in the study. Data collection involved a combination of semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions, and reflective journals, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of the students' perspectives. Inductive thematic analysis was employed to identify key themes and patterns in the data, with the findings presented as a rich, descriptive narrative. Strategies for establishing trustworthiness included triangulation of data sources, member checking, and peer debriefing. This study contributes to our understanding of DIY language learning by highlighting the DIY English language learning strategies, benefits and challenges, and students’ ways of assessing DIY English language learning at Universitas Negeri Makassar, ultimately informing future educational practices and policies.
