The Merti Desa tradition is local wisdom carried out by the people of Boja Village. Behind the implementation of the Merti Desa tradition are values and deep meanings for the community. However, in this modern era, more and more people need to learn the values contained in the Merti Desa. The purpose of this study is to examine the values of local wisdom of the Merti Desa tradition and analyze the application of the Merti Desa tradition and the obstacles that arise in the application of the Merti Desa tradition as a source of social studies learning. This study used qualitative methods. Data were collected using interviews and data analysis using interactive models. The results showed that there are values in the Merti Desa tradition, namely religious, mutual aid, and cultural values. The strategy teachers use in its application is through learning media in the form of photos and videos and direct observation in the field. The obstacles that arise are more technical in the form of limited time in delivering material, mastery of the material, and limitations of facilities and infrastructure.

In this article, the prospects of the implementation of the new State migration policy framework of the Russian Federation for 2019-2025 as applied to student migrants are analyzed. We have studied the educational process for foreign students at all levels of higher education as a part of education-related (study-related) migration. We have defined the following three aspects: social, cultural, and legal as equivalent factors of adaptation and socialization for foreign students. We highlight that apart from the basic learning competencies, it is crucial to develop skills for communicating in the language of the host country while acknowledging the basic values of the social and cultural realia that are new for foreign students. The teacher has a significant role in the organization of the education process for foreign students. We have studied the stages of students’ adaptation and integration into the new sociocultural and academic environment. The hypothesis is that it is crucial to learn and take into account national and psychological characteristics of student migrants from around the world. We provide examples based on the research results of the adaptation analysisof Volgograd State Technical University foreign students. We also provide recommendations for the organization of the education process and communication with foreign students.

The article analyzes the implementation of intercultural communication of foreign students in the conditions of international faculties within Russian universities. The authors consider intercultural communication of foreigners as their ability to communicate in the studied language with the adoption of the basic values of that new social and cultural environment. Attention is drawn to the role of the teacher in the organization of intercultural pedagogical communication. The necessary qualities that a teacher working with foreign students should possess are characterized. The stages in the formation of intercultural communication, leading to the adaptation of students to a new social and academic environment, are also considered. This thesis expresses the necessity of studying the national-psychological characteristics belonging to the representatives of different regions of the world. The paper presents the results of the author's study on the classification of main national-psychological characteristics of foreign students from different countries, whose representatives study at the Volgograd State Technical University. The authors also provide the recommendations on organizing intercultural communication with different foreign contingents.
