“…Recently, the Surgical Task Force at the International Society of Geriatric Oncology found that, of 251 surgeons who responded to a questionnaire concerning their attitudes about the preoperative assessment of older cancer patients (11% response rate), only 48% considered a preoperative frailty assessment to be mandatory, only 6% used GA in daily practice, and only 34% collaborated with geriatricians. 15 These poor compliance rates likely stem from the practical difficulties of implementing GA in routine surgical practice.…”
