The Chinese Central Bank Digital Currency, E-CNY (previously called Digital Currency/Electronic Payment (DC/EP)) is a proposed digital legal tender issued by the People's Bank of China (PBC) in 2014. In 2020, DC/EP pilot testing was under way in several cities. In 2022, DC/EP project expended to 23 regions in 15 provinces and cities, including Guangzhou City (GZ). In the previous study, there is no research on investigating factors that influencing behavioural intention to use e-CNY among college students in Guangzhou City, China. Accordingly, this study is to develop a theoretical model for college students' behavioural intention by integrating the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) and unified theory of acceptance and use of technology model (UTAUT), which is tested on the intended use of e-CNY in Guangzhou City. The authors conducted a survey with 400 participants. The data analysis was carried out using SPSS software. It is hoped that this research will give values to PBC with an understanding of the contributing factors that affect college students' acceptance of e-CNY in China.
