The Activist Personality: Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Opposition Activism in Authoritarian Regimes

Abstract: Why do people become opposition activists in authoritarian regimes where dissent invites social censure and can be dangerous? We make a new contribution to answering this classic question: personality.
