Introduction: Textiloma or Gossypiboma is used to describe a foreign body composed of a compress (s) or surgical field (s) forgotten at an operating site. Case report: Authors reported two cases of intestinal migrant textiloma in patients all previously operated on by cesarean section. The two patients consulted for a chronic painful abdominal mass. Abdominal ultrasound showed a superficial anterior structure in favor of foreign body in the first patient. The second one concluded that there was a right ovarian cyst. The surgery discovered a greek mass in both cases. Resection of the intestinal mass was performed followed by end to end anastomosis. The enterostomy of hail mass revealed an abdominal compress in each case. Conclusion: Forgetting a compress or abdominal field during surgery is a tragedy for the surgeon not only because of its forensic aspect but also because of the suffering endured by the patient. Indeed, actions trying to prevent this type of error are implemented in most developed countries; it is time for each hospital to adopt preventive measures, even if just only the compresses counting during the procedure.

Introduction: Today, surgical errors are becoming less and less frequent, thanks to the development of new techniques and the choice of different approaches. Nevertheless, they are still possible, and it is important to mention them in order to prevent them and avoid their recurrence. Case Presentation: We report a case of intravesical textiloma, rarely observed in urological surgery, in an 80-year-old patient who underwent laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair and presented to a urological consultation with hematuria and irritative lower urinary tract signs. Abdominal ultrasound revealed a hyperechoic tissue-like formation in the posterior wall of the bladder. The diagnosis of a bladder tumor was therefore raised, and cystoscopy was performed, which revealed an intravesical textiloma. All foreign bodies were removed endoscopically, and the patient had a good post-operative outcome. Conclusion: The rarity of the urological location of textilomas and the importance of their prevention remain a goal in surgery, whatever the specialty.

We report the case of an intraperitoneal textiloma of incidental and confusing radiological diagnosis. The aim was to highlight the difficulties of radiological diagnosis in this specific case. It was a 38-year-old lady with history of four caesareans, the last of which was in 2012. She was received at the medico-surgical clinic of Peace in Libreville on 01/10/2020 for a metrorrhagia evolving around four months . Physical examination found conjunctival pallor, an enlarged uterus and a lucky find of a mass in the right flank. An abdominopelvic ultrasound and CT scan concluded that an intraperitoneal cyst and a submucosal uterine myoma. Surgical excision of the cystic mass with histopathological study concluded to a textiloma. The radiological diagnosis of a textiloma can be confusing, especially in advanced encysted forms as the case reported here. The diagnosis of confirmation at this stage of evolution remains histopathological. RÉSUMÉ Nous rapportons le cas d’un textilome intrapéritonéal de diagnostic radiologique fortuit et déroutant. Le but était de souligner les difficultés du diagnostic radiologique dans ce cas précis. Il s’agissait d’une dame de 38 ans avec des antécédents de quatre césariennes dont la dernière en 2012. Elle était reçue à la clinique médico-chirurgicale de la Paix de Libreville le 10/01/2020 pour une métrorragie évoluant quatre mois environs. L’examen physique a retrouvé une pâleur conjonctivale, un utérus augmenté de taille et une découverte fortuite d’une masse dans le flanc droit. Une exploration échographique et tomodensitométrique abdominopelvienne a conclu à un kyste intrapéritonéal et un myome utérin sous-muqueux. L’exérèse chirurgicale de la masse kystique avec étude histopathologique a conclu à un textilome. Le diagnostic radiologique d’un textilome peut être déroutant notamment dans les formes évoluées enkystées comme le cas rapporté ici. La confirmation diagnostique à ce stade d’évolution reste histopathologique.
