Testicular neoplasms are an uncommon occurrence in children under the age of 2 years; approximately 200 cases have been reported thus far. Because of this, therapy in this age group is not uniform. The place of postoperative radiation is unclear and there appears to be a general reluctance to perform retroperitoneal node dissection when, in an adult, this would be the next step. The author submits an additional case to those already reported in which retroperitoneal node dissection was successfully performed. From a review of the literature and the experience gained from this case, it is recommended that the criteria used for node dissection in an adult be applied in infants and children.
