Abstract

These results support the use of tenofovir DF/emtricitabine and efavirenz combination therapy for HIV infection in patients with TB.

“…We next studied whether the baseline concentration of the IL-7, sCD25, and IP-10 markers were associated with the subsequent occurrence of TB-IRIS. Baseline values of two bioclinical parameters, hemoglobin and body mass index (BMI), were also included in the model (supplementary Table 1), as these parameters had been found to be associated with TB-IRIS occurrence in multivariable analyses of the BKVIR core trial [29]. In the final Cox proportional hazards model (Table 3A), only IL-7 (p=0.022) and sCD25 (p=0.005) were independently associated with TB-IRIS occurrence.…”
