Temporal and spatial interactions between the carotid sinus and vagally mediated baroreflexes in dogs.

Abstract: We investigated the temporal and spatial interactions between the carotid sinus and aortic arch baroreflex control of arterial pressure in 25 dogs anesthetized with pentobarbital sodium. The carotid sinus baroreceptor region was vascularly isolated to control the intracarotid sinus pressure. A hemorrhage catheter was inserted into the aortic arch.
