Abstract:We investigated the temporal and spatial interactions between the carotid sinus and aortic arch baroreflex control of arterial pressure in 25 dogs anesthetized with pentobarbital sodium. The carotid sinus baroreceptor region was vascularly isolated to control the intracarotid sinus pressure. A hemorrhage catheter was inserted into the aortic arch. The systemic arterial pressure change after quick mild hemorrhage (2 ml/kg body weight within 1-2 s) was monitored. The open-loop gain of the vagally mediated barore… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
