On the ventilator, there are several important parameters, including gas mixing, which functions to mix oxygen with free air, the tidal volume serves to supply mixed air to the patient, respiratory rate is the frequency of breath given to the patient, and the humidifier functions to regulate the temperature of the air given to the patient. In this research, the author intends to design a ventilator device which uses a working system to open and close the valve to distribute air to the patient. This tool uses several sensors: oxygen sensor KE-25F3, flow sensor yf-s201, pressure sensor MPX 5700, and temperature sensor DS 12B20. The tidal volume (VT) has 3 setting values: 700 ml, 500 ml, and 300 ml. The test is carried out by opening and closing the valve. The respiratory rate has 2 settings of 15 and 20 breaths/minute. In addition, the humidifier has 3 setting modes 32, 35, and 40o C. From the test results, the highest error was obtained in the 300 ml tidal volume test, which was 7.20% and in the respiratory rate test, the highest error value was 0%. The test results with the oxygen concentration parameter obtained the largest error value of 0.1% at 100% oxygen concentration. In testing the temperature and humidity parameters, the largest average error was 2.40% at 40o C setting. So, it can be concluded that the tool is feasible to use because of the level of small error and still within the standard calibration tolerance of 15%.

IoT-fog-based healthcare 4.0 system using blockchain technology

Real-time tracking and surveillance of patients' health has become ubiquitous in the healthcare sector as a result of the development of fog, cloud computing, and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. Medical IoT (MIoT) equipment often transfers health data to a pharmaceutical data center, where it is saved, evaluated, and made available to relevant stakeholders or users. Fog layers have been utilized to increase the scalability and flexibility of IoT-based healthcare services, by providing quick response times and low latency. Our proposed solution focuses on an electronic healthcare system that manages both critical and non-critical patients simultaneously. Fog layer is distributed into two halves: critical fog cluster and non-critical fog cluster. Critical patients are handled at critical fog clusters for quick response, while non-critical patients are handled using blockchain technology at non-critical fog cluster, which protects the privacy of patient health records. The suggested solution requires little modification to the current IoT ecosystem while decrease the response time for critical messages and offloading the cloud infrastructure. Reduced storage requirements for cloud data centers benefit users in addition to saving money on construction and operating expenses. In addition, we examined the proposed work for recall, accuracy, precision, and F-score. The results show that the suggested approach is successful in protecting privacy while retaining standard network settings. Moreover, suggested system and benchmark are evaluated in terms of system response time, drop rate, throughput, fog, and cloud utilization. Evaluated results clearly indicate the performance of proposed system is better than benchmark.

The incubator is an encased device whose inward ecological system is disconnected from the surrounding climate. It creates an ideal climate for the incubation process and is an indispensable device for premature infants as these children are prone to developing health problems that would affect the conditions of their growth and development. A low-cost, IoT-based autonomous Incubation System that would create an ideal environment for premature children to help them to grow to maturity would be invaluable, especially for rural areas that lack adequate medical facilities. Such a system would significantly reduce the mortality rate of premature infants. This paper focuses on designing a framework for such a system in which the temperature and humidity are autonomously controlled. A secured incubation system was developed using IBM Cloud, IBM Watson IoT platform, and MIT App Inventor.
