Temperature Dependence of the Nuclear Quadrupole Frequencies of 23Na and 187Re in NaReO4

Abstract: The temperature dependence of the quadrupole frequency of 187Re measured by N Q R and of 23Na measured by N M R has been determinedfor temperatures between 170Kand 300Kin NaReO,}. For both nuclei the quadrupole frequency decreases with increasing temperature. The dependence is stronger for 187Re than for 2 3 Na.

“…35 Using our new NQR data, we establish that C Q ( 185 Re)=300.68(0.02) MHz and C Q ( 187 Re) = 284.54(0.02) MHz at 291.8 K. The slight discrepancy between our C Q ( 185/187 Re) values and those measured earlier by NQR can be fully attributed to the difference in the respective measurement temperatures. 36 To measure the rhenium EFG and CS tensors for this sample using SSNMR, we carried out 185/187 Re SSNMR experiments on powdered NaReO 4 at B 0 = 11.75 and 21.1 T ( Fig. 1 and 2).…”
