Fires and gas leaks are events that still occur frequently. This incident is usually caused by various factors including leakage of LPG gas cylinders, cigarette butts that are disposed of carelessly, short circuits of electric current and so on. Generally, fires and gas leaks can only be detected if the fire has already grown or a lot of smoke comes out of the building. Therefore, a monitoring system for detecting dangerous gases and fires in buildings based on the Internet of Things was created that can monitor the condition of the building through a website as well as send notifications to the Telegram application on smartphones. The detection system implemented uses a flame sensor as a fire detector, an MQ-2 gas sensor as a detector of hazardous gases (CO, CO2, and CH4), and NodeMCU as a module to transmit data. The system will work continuously in real time, if gas is detected that exceeds the threshold or a fire is detected, the system will send a notification to Telegram and the website will display the value and status of the sensor and a map of the area where the fire or gas leak occurred. The results of the detection system created to be able to provide solutions so that cases of fire and gas leaks can be handled early by detecting signs of fire or gas leaks and sending the information to users via the website and notifications.

Today, the highest reach messaging app is WhatsApp, compared to any other channel. Undeniably, having more than a billion users, the top messaging platform"s users are actively exchanging messages, making voice and video calls, sharing documents and pictures, sharing their stories just like other social media apps around the world, free of charge. In WhatsApp usage behavior, Malaysia is considered as digital forerunner because 97% of the Malaysian population uses WhatsApp daily. This research paper provides useful insights about the levels and patterns of WhatsApp usage in Malaysian public and private universities as a means of official communication. The paper discusses the demographic details of 328 respondents and their responses on the patterns and levels of WhatsApp usage at work. The results explained with the help of charts and tables, confirm the high levels of WhatsApp"s official usage among university academicians in Malaysia. The results further explained the patterns, frequency and type of WhatsApp usage in official communication among superiors, subordinates, colleagues etc. It also confirms that most of the staff uses WhatsApp for official communication with colleagues and subordinates but do not prefer much with superiors. The study shows some interesting insights about this medium of communication. Contribution/ Originality:The study provides a detailed investigation about levels and patterns of WhatsApp for official communication. The same study can be applied on any other source of medium in other industry where that medium is widely used.

In the Area Mapping Project (Preparation for the 2020 Population Census), there is monitoring and collecting data process on the progress of activities in the field. There are weaknesses in data collection on the progress of activities in the field; The manual recapitulation of progress reporting makes the progress data not displayed in real-time, the SMS Gateway is often interrupted, and progress data collection through the monitoring website is less effective if reported directly by field officers. Telegram Bot is used as a data collection tool for field progress reports on Area Mapping activities to overcome these weaknesses. This study aims to prove that Telegram Bot can be used as a real-time data collection tool, has good performance, and is acceptable to users. Telegram Bot is integrated with Monitoring Website into one system and database in this research. This system uses PHP, Yii2, and MySQL, and communication between the web server and Telegram Server uses the webhook method. Based on the Black Box test results, all functions in this system run as expected. The average bot response time was 7.72 seconds for images and 2.25 seconds for text data in the performance test. In the usability test, Telegram Bot obtained a SUS Score of 66 and an NPS of 12.195. These results show that Telegram Bot can be used as a real-time data collection tool, has good performance, and is well accepted by users.
