Technology Aspects of State Explosion Problem Resolving for Industrial Software Design

Abstract: -The paper describes technology aspects of proposed solution for resolving of state explosion problem. The main point is in usage of guides which can be created both manually and automatically and allow to reduce state space during trace generation process. The following techniques is described: traceability tracking of requirements, guides generation based on selected criterion, guides analysis in case of problems with traces generation.Usage of described techniques in verification and testing phases of softw… Show more

“…When a system has many concurrent components, the state space of system execution might expand infinitely beyond ordinary computation capability. Based on exhaustive search, workflow and TL may suffer from the problem of state explosion which has long been the bottleneck for their development [62]. In contrast, CMV-DL works on deduction reasoning where the space of deduction reasoning is limited by the size of the generated ontology and the computation complexity is decreased by the high efficient reasoner algorithm Tableau [63,64].…”
