“…Although states have long been considered to be the primary actor in the control and regulation of migrants and refugees, recently other actors have come under the limelight with the introduction of the notion of “governance.” Governance is one of the critical and catchy terms used to refer to the new governing mechanisms in the neoliberal age where the state is thought to have weakened as a consequence of globalization dynamics.
