China’s energy structure is dominated by fossil fuels, especially coal consumption, which accounts for a relatively high share. In January 2020, the COVID-19 outbreak affected the global coal market, and many countries experienced negative economic growth. Economic development requires energy consumption. In 2021, China set a target of peaking carbon emissions by 2030 in order to phase out the dependence of carbon emissions on economic development. Therefore, the aim of this article is to develop directions for the sustainable development of China’s coal industry. Based on the macroenvironment and situation analysis, the article concludes that, under the influence of geopolitics, China’s shortage of imported coal resources and China’s continuous rise in coal demand, the share of coal in China’s energy structure will not decrease significantly in the long-term. The main directions for the sustainable development of China’s coal industry are to ensure the safety of coal energy storage and improve the level of safety supervision; coordinate the development of regional energy; increase the clean, efficient, and low-carbon utilization of coal; and strengthen international coal strategic cooperation.

The scientometrics has become the most important tool to evaluate and analyze the performance of scientists, cooperation between universities, the impact of public funding of science on the results of national research and development, the effectiveness of education, and others. Therefore, professionals and scientists need a range of theoretical and practical tools to measure experimental data. The purpose of this article is to provide an up-to-date overview of the various tools available for scientometric analysis, including data sources, performance analysis and visualization tools. In this study performed a scientometric analysis based on 21,180 publications from the Scopus database was conducted with only published articles in mining industry between 1960 and 2023. It also revealed that 77% of the articles were published in journals and only 2.6% corresponded to review studies. Using network analysis in VOSviewer, the publications were grouped by keywords into 5 clusters with Strength. Cartographic analysis confirmed the descriptive findings and visualized the co-authorship of authors. Using bibliographic linkage analysis, the semantic relationship between authors and their associated institutions and countries was investigated (consist of 38 clusters with 404 link). Average number of citations per keyword (3.2) will allowed the most cited area is devoted to health risks. Recent studies have focused on dust and lung diseases which can pose a serious threat to the life and health of mine workers, therefore risk of coal dust explosions, which in result poses a direct risk of injury or even loss of life.

This paper considers a thermal accumulator using phase transition materials as a way to increase the energy efficiency and maneuverability of nuclear power plants. A low-power nuclear power plant is the object of this study. Such nuclear power plants have a great potential for widespread implementation as sources of thermal and electrical energy for facilities of mineral and raw material as well as fuel and energy complexes located in distant regions. The main principles of development of low-power nuclear power plants are revealed. So, in the development of low-power nuclear power plants, experience in the creation and operation of shipboard nuclear power installations is widely used. The problems of NPP operation in daily maneuvering modes within an isolated power system are revealed. A method for improving the energy efficiency and maneuverability of nuclear power plants is proposed, in particular, through the use of thermal accumulators with a phase change material directly in the NPP circuit. A method of assessment of the dimensions of the heat accumulator and the amount of heat accumulating material is presented. A method of assessment of the efficiency of the accumulator application scheme is presented. The thermal scheme of a promising low-power nuclear power plant with an RITM-200 reactor is compiled. A scheme for switching on a heat accumulator with a phase change material to a scheme for regenerative heating of a turbine is proposed. The heat storage material selection is made, the main elements and characteristics of such an accumulator are determined, and the parameters of the heat transfer fluid’s movement through the accumulator are determined. A mathematical model of the heat exchange in an accumulator based on the finite difference method is compiled, and the simulation results are presented. The results of the experimental verification of the model are presented. As a result of the calculation of NPPs’ thermal schemes in the standard version and the version with a heat accumulator, the power increase in the turbine plant due to the application of accumulated heat in the accumulator discharge mode is determined.
