“…In diesel vehicle exhaust systems, ammonia oxidation catalysts are positioned downstream of the NH 3 -SCR catalyst to avoid ammonia slip from NH 3 -SCR system. [41,42] However, over the traditional platinumbased oxidation catalysts, ammonia oxidation shows relatively low selectivity for nitrogen and the side reactions cause the generation of N 2 O and NO x . More recently, it has been suggested to add a layer of NH 3 -SCR active catalyst on the top of ammonia slip catalysts to increase N 2 selectivity.…”

“…An apparent desorption peak at 170-190 °C was observed for all of the samples, and this was ascribed to weakly acidic sites, such as defect sites (Si-OH, etc.) 35 . The desorption peak at 335-350 °C was attributed to the desorption of ammonia from medium acid sites 36 .…”

“…Although loaded Ag catalysts hold great promise for the selective catalytic oxidation of ammonia (NH 3 -SCO), they are currently limited in their catalytic performance because of the inability to manage the ratio of visible to active Ag species inside/on the carrier. Therefore, in the current study, the aim is to better understand how the microenvironment of zeolite contributes to the formation of Ag species, and a series of SSZ-13 zeolites with varying concentrations of ion exchange sites, surface areas of the zeolites, and defect sites were prepared by Qiu et al 74 and used for the loading of Ag species by these materials. As part of these carriers, SSZ-13 zeolites with varying Si/Al ratios and nano/micrometer sizing were incorporated into the system.…”
