“…These data are similar to those found in the literature . Here we consider a comparison of Cd(II) azide/thiocyanate linked coordination polymers 1 & 2 with other divalent metal involving identical ligands(L1) and azide/thiocyanate ions in terms of dimensionality of the polymers, ligand coordination mode and the inorganic ligands [See supporting information Table S5].…”

“…In a continuous effort to explore the luminescent properties of halides and pseudohalides metal compounds of 3d 10 group with N, N′‐Bis(3‐methoxysalicylidenimino)‐1,3‐diaminopropane (H 2 L 1 ) allowed us to assemble a homometallic trinuclear linear compound [Cd 3 (L 1 ) 2 (Cl) 2 ] in presence of NaCl as Cl − spacer . More recently, utilizing same ligand in presence of pseudohalide like thiocyanate anion an 1D chain of Zn(II) coordination polymer [Zn 2 L 1 ( μ 1,3 ‐SCN)( η 1 SCN)] n ( 1 ) has been reported . Spurred on by these results, we were fascinated in examining the generality of Schiff base (H 2 L 1 ) in assisting formation of different topological structural framework in presence of pseudohalide as coligands like azide and thiocyanate.…”

“…In addition, binucleating Schiff base ligand, such as N,N'-bis(salicylidene)-1,3-propanediamine and its derivatives are of particular interests among the ligands that produce µ-alkoxido bridging complexes because of the ease in the preparation of binuclear complexes mostly with the elements of first transition series [17,27]. Zinccontaining Salen complexes have been shown to have optoelectronic, antibacterial, insulin-mimetic, and anticancer properties [28][29][30][31]. In light of the numerous applications of salen ligands, we, herein, investigate a novel binuclear Zn(II) salen complex, and its structural studies by single crystal X-ray crystallography, infrared and NMR studies, and thermogravimetric analysis.…”

“…In our previous work, we have successfully established the luminescent and antimicrobial properties of halides and pseudohalides metal complexes of 3d 10 group metal ions [Zn,Cd] using [N, N′‐Bis(3‐methoxysalicylidenimino)‐1,3‐diaminopropane] (H 2 L OMe ) . More recently, utilizing the same ligand in presence of pseudohalide thiocyanate anion an 1D chain of Zn(II) coordination polymer [Zn 2 L (OMe) ( μ 1,3 ‐SCN)( η 1 SCN)] n ( 1 ) has been reported . Apart from these works, our research team further successfully analyzed two Cd(II) Azide/thiocyanate linked 1D and 2D coordination polymers {[Cd 4 (N 3 ) 4 (L OMe ) 2 ].H 2 O} n ,[Cd 4 (L OMe ) 2 (SCN) 4 ] n , three Zn(II) dinuclear complexes [Zn 2 (L OEt )(CH 3 OH) 2 (SCN)(OAc)], [Zn 2 (L OEt )(CH 3 OH) 2 (N 3 ) 2 ], [Zn 2 (L OEt )(Cl) 2 (CH 3 OH)].CH 3 OH and their novel luminescent and antimicrobial properties vividly .…”
