Synthesis, Spectral and Thermal Studdes of Organotin(IV) Complexes of N-Acetylamino Acids

Abstract: New organotin(1V) complexes of the types. R,SnL,, [where n = 3, m = 1, R = C,H,. CI-I, or C4119; n = 2, m = 2 . R = C,H, or C,H, and L = anion of N-acetylglycine (HL') and ~-acetyl-i)i.-tryptophan (HL')]. (R,Sn),L' [where R = C,H,, CH, or C,H, and L' = anion of N-acetyl-i--cysteine (H2L3)], R$nL'[where R = C,H, or C4H9 and L' = anion of (H2L3)] and Bu,(L)SnOSn(L)Bu, [where L = anion of (HL')] have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance. electronic. infrared, far-infrared, '… Show more

“…The protons of different organic groups viz., butyl, phenyl and methyl attached to the tin nucleus in these compounds appear at the appropriate positions in accordance to the previously reported values. 14,15 The number of protons of the various groups, calculated from the integration curves and those calculated for the expected molecular formulae are in complete agreement with each other. …”

“…Some drugs show increased activity when administered as metal chelates and inhibit the growth of tumor. Moreover, the development in the field of bioinorganic chemistry has increased the interest in Schiff base complexes, since it has been recognized that many of these may serve as models for biologically important species [ 6 9 ]. During the past few decades, research about new organotin compounds has increased dramatically, most likely due to their diverse biological applications [ 10 13 ].…”

“…The spectra of the complexes displayed two different absorption bands in the 1627 and 1427 cm −1 , which correspond to the difference between the ν asym (COO) and ν sym (COO) vibrational modes of the carboxyl groups, distinction Δν = [ν asym(COO−) -ν sym (COO−)] > 200 cm -1 falls in the range of 274-262 cm -1 . This results for carboxyl group associated with monodentate manner coordination [14][15][16] with the metal ions. L-dopa acts as bidentate ligand coordination by the carboxyl oxygen COO → and the ← NH2 nitrogen atom of amino group with the active donor atoms.…”

“…295 °C). FT-IR (KBr, cm -1 ), as displayed in Figure S1 (Supporting information), 3242 ν (O-H), 1610 ν (C=N), 1701 v (C=O), 1589 ν (C=C), 1029 ν (C-O-C), and 1126 ν (OCH3) [13][14][15][16]. UV-Vis, 10-3 mol L -1 in DMSO, λmax nm: 284 and 364 were assigned to (π→π*) and (n→π*) transitions, respectively.…”
