Synthesis of Reduced Graphene Oxide-Titanium (rGO-TiO2) Composite Using a Solvothermal and Hydrothermal Methods and Characterized via XRD and UV-Vis

Abstract: Nowadays, Carbon Capture and Conversion (CCC) method is one of the alternative solutions in carbon management. The reduced graphene oxide-Titanium (rGO-TiO 2 ) composites are the CCC material that will capture the carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) and convert it into hydrocarbon fuels such as methane. The effect of synthesizing method into crystallinity growth and the band gap will be studied in this research work. Therefore, the rGO-TiO 2 will be synthesized via solvothermal and hydrothermal methods and then will be cha… Show more

“…Hasil yang diperoleh menyatakan bahwa puncak difraksi dari rGO tidak terdeteksi karena terlindungi pucak utama dari TiO2 anatase pada puncak difraksi 25,1°. Tetapi komposit yang dihasilkan murni dan mengkristal dengan baik dan tidak terdeteksi puncak difraksi senyawa lain [22][23].…”

“…The photoreaction activity of the TiO 2 can be enhanced by various factors, such as crystallinity, morphology, and surface area [ 11 ]. The large band gap of titanium dioxide, which is around 3.0 to 3.2 electron volts, affects its light absorption ability [ 12 , 13 ]. Due to its surface area and size, it can only absorb a short wavelength of light, which falls in the UV region.…”

“…Meanwhile, the normalized resistance of the IDE sensors degrades slightly more to 7% during bending with deviation of 3.1%. With rGO-TiO 2 is known to have strong mechanical strength and electrochemically stable, 64,65 the device is not significantly affected by the bending condition owing to the tight Ti-O-C bond 66 hence demonstrating feasibility for flexible application. However, it can be implied that the performance deterioration may be caused by denaturation of GO x activity 12 or exposure of rGO-TiO 2 to ambient air due to the devices' absorbing properties 46 .…”
