Synthesis of new distyrylpyridine analogues bearing amide substructure as effective insecticidal agents

Abstract: In examining for unique insecticidal agents, two derivatives namely, 2-((3-cyano-4,6-distyrylpyridin-2-yl)thio)-N-(4-nitrophenyl)acetamide (2) and 3-amino-N-(4-nitrophenyl)-4,6-distyrylthieno[2,3-b]pyridine-2-carboxamide (3) were synthesized from distyrylpyridine-2-thione (1). The new compounds were structurally clarified by spectral and elemental analysis data. The insecticidal activity of these compounds were carried out against cowpea aphid, Aphis craccivora Koch. It is demonstrated that the compounds 2 and… Show more

“…Data are average of a minimum of five fruits per treatment and evaluated statistically by the calculation of averages + standard deviation or ANOVA and mean separation by Duncan’s multiple range tests at the 5% level of significance. This work confirms that there are different applications for bioactive compounds in agriculture and other fields which is reflected in many papers that have been published before. Also, it is interesting to clarify that the importance of this paper and other agricultural research lies in their significant contribution in solving worldwide concerns, including food security, environmental sustainability, and economic development. …”

“…Notably, this analysis helped in identifying key structural features responsible for the observed biological effects, enabling the design of more potent derivatives in the future. It is exciting to clarify that this research reaffirms the significant role of applied chemical sciences across various applications as evidenced by numerous previously published papers. Finally, we can conclude that this work focused on the preparation of 12 heterocyclic compounds of quinazolines and evaluating their agricultural bioactivity as insecticides. The study also aimed to establish SARs among the compounds and perform molecular docking analyses.…”

“…The insecticidal bioactivity of all prepared urea, thiourea, thiosemicarbazide, oxazole, pyrazole, and triazine derivatives was screened by standard leaf dip bioassay methods. The results of the target compounds for laboratory tests were recorded, and the concentrations required to kill 50% (LC 50 ) of S. littoralis larvae were determined.…”
