Synthesis of Highly Functionalised 1-Azadienes and Ketenimines by the Reaction of Alkyl Isocyanides and Dialkyl Acetylenedicarboxylates in the Presence of Theophylline Derivatives

Abstract

The 1:1 reactive intermediate generated by the addition of alkyl isocyanides to dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates was trapped by theophylline derivatives as strong NH-acids to yield highly functionalised 1-azadienes and ketenimines.
