“…Many previous references have reported the improvement of characteristic properties in various materials by doping [2][3][4][5]. Among the multifarious nanomaterials of transition-metal oxides, cupric oxide (CuO) with a narrow bandgap of 1.2-1.9 eV has attracted much interest due to its unique properties.…”

“…In the past decades, metal semiconductor oxides have attracted much attention for their high sensitivity and stability toward reducing gases. Examples such as TiO 2 [ 11 , 12 , 13 ], NiO [ 14 , 15 ], ZnO [ 16 , 17 , 18 , 19 ], Co 3 O 4 [ 20 ], Fe 2 O 3 [ 21 , 22 ], WO 3 [ 23 , 24 , 25 ], and SnO 2 [ 26 , 27 , 28 , 29 , 30 ] are reported as acetone sensors with good performance. In recent years, the perovskite structure (ABO 3 ) also showed good sensitivity, stability and selectivity toward acetone, with examples such as LaFeO 3 [ 31 , 32 ] Yb 1−x Ca x FeO 3 [ 33 ] LaNi 1−x Ti x O 3 [ 34 ] SmFeO 3 [ 35 ], SmFe 1−x Mg x O 3 [ 36 ], NdFeO 3 [ 37 ] and La 0.75 Ba 0.25 FeO 3 [ 38 ].…”
