Synthesis of balanced quaternary reversible logic circuit

Abstract: Binary number system based digital logic design has been in use for long with phenomenal increase in circuit sizes, working with binary logic system is becoming increasingly difficult. Multi-valued logic system reduces the significant amount of design effort. Multi-valued ternary logic under GF (3) and quaternary logic under GF (4) are available in the literature, but circuit design based on these logic systems is very few. As traditional computing devices based on irreversible logic are approaching their limi… Show more

“…The multi‐valued quantum technology is a promising choice for the future of quantum computing because it has several advantages over binary and ternary quantum technologies [13]. Although ternary logic is the simplest type of multiple‐valued reversible logic and many works have been reported in this logic [14–23], the representation of conventional binary logic functions in ternary logic is not straightforward. The quaternary logic is a suitable choice for binary logical functions since every two qubits in binary logic can be arranged in groups with each other and can be expressed as one qudit (2 2 = 4) [9].…”
