Synthesis, growth, structural, thermal, dielectric, linear and nonlinear optical studies of 2-amino 6-methylpyridinium salicylate single crystal

Abstract: Single crystal of 2-amino 6-methylpyridinium salicylate (2A6MPS) was grown for the first time by the slow evaporation method. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis was employed to estimate the cell parameters of the grown crystal. The third order nonlinear optical properties of 2A6MPS was studied by the Z-scan technique using 532 nm diode pumped CW Nd:YAG laser. Nonlinear refractive index, nonlinear absorption coefficient and nonlinear susceptibility of the grown crystal were found to be 10 -8 cm 2 /W, 10 … Show more

“…Hydrazone derivatives containing an azomethine (-CONHN CH-) group act as cytotoxic agents with the capability to prevent cell series in cancerous cells through different mechanisms (Patil et al, 2011). Pyridine heterocycles and their derivatives are present in many large molecules having photo-chemical, electrochemical and catalytic applications (Thirunavukkarsu et al, 2017;Venda et al, 2017;Jauhar et al, 2016;Babu et al, 2014aBabu et al, ,b, 2015Rajkumar et al, 2014Rajkumar et al, , 2015Huq et al, 2010). As a part of our research study, we report herein the synthesis and the crystal structures of the title compounds, (I) and (II), which contain several donor functions of a different nature: hydrazide and pyridine.…”
