“…SbBr 3 (CH 4 N 2 S) 2 ÁH 2 O, that crystallizes in the space group Cmc2 1 (Shettigar et al, 2004). Its SHG activity has been known before and after this report (Bhat & Dharmaprakash, 1997;Karthick et al, 2009;Rajagopalan & Krishnamoorthy, 2016). A PLATON (Spek, 2020) check on the CIF shows that the space group is only nearly centrosymmetric.…”

“…Inspired by pioneering works and correlation theory of inorganic and organic NLO crystals, , we report the design and construction of an acentric organic–inorganic hybrid metal–organic crystal with a strong second-order NLO response. First, the d 10 metal cation Cd 2+ was selected as the central metal ion, which can readily combine with organic ligands by the electron motion of ligand-to-metal charge transfer (LMCT); this, together with the d 10 electronic configuration of Cd 2+ oriented toward the present dissymmetric coordination with high torsion, contributes to the construction of noncentrosymmetric crystals, benefiting from the second-order Jahn–Teller (SOJT) effect . Next, morpholine was selected as an organic ligand, which contains O with a lone pair of electrons acting as donors that are capable of combining with metal Cd 2+ by metal–ligand bonding, which is supposed to exhibit strong molecular susceptibility due to electron movement from organic ligands to inorganic metals .…”

“…Obviously, the semi-organic crystals exhibit the properties of both crystals. These hybrid compounds show potential applications in linear and nonlinear optics [7][8][9][10]. Attempts have been made by several researchers, to synthesize and grow semiorganic crystals which may exhibit the properties of both organic and inorganic crystals.…”
