Synthesis conditions of carbon nanotubes with the chemical vapor deposition method

Abstract: Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) enables the mass synthesis of high-quality nanotubes. There is a large number of synthesis process parameters that have an influence on the type and form of the final product. The aim of the paper is the optimization of the synthesis process of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) with the CVD method. Three synthesis parameters were selected (temperature, process time, and hydrogen flow rate) influencing the form and quality of the material produced. The experiments were carrie… Show more

“…Carbon nanotubes are characterised by good mechanical, thermal and electric properties, unlike any others, i.e., engineering materials known to date [13,14]. Carbon nanotubes, since they have been manufactured, have become the object of extensive investigations of many research institutions around the globe.…”

“…The applicability of nanocomposites with interesting electrical properties, structure and, most of all, a highly developed specific surface, created by combining carbon nanotubes with Pt nanocrystals as an active surface of sensors of industrial gases, is an interesting research aspect for the authors [37][38][39]. This publication presents…”
