Synthesis, Characterization and Study of Antibacterial Activity of Methacrylic Copolymer

Abstract: 4-Benzyloxyphenylmethacrylic copolymers with Glycidyl methacrylate were synthesized from the monomer, 4-Benzyloxyphenylmethacrylate (4-BOPMA) by free radical solution polymerization. The synthesized monomer and co-polymer were characterized by UV, FT-IR, H 1 -NMR and C 13 -NMR spectroscopic techniques. The thermal stability of the polymers was determined by TGA in inert atmosphere. The glass transition temperatures of the polymers were determined by DSC analysis.
