“…In addition to this a new absorption band at 1450 cm -1 originating from the skeletal vibration of the graphene sheets[17]. The absorption bands in the range of 420-560 cm -1 can be assigned to the vibrations of Zn-O[18]. The above results strongly confirm the existence of ZnO and graphene components in the composites.…”

“…The presence of chemical interactions between the oxygen functionalities of rGO with inorganic moieties such as Zn, Ag and Nd were verified by reduction of the oxygen-containing groups (elimination of peak at 1734 cm À1 ) in GO compared to the NCs. However, in comparison to FTIR spectrum of GO, the intensity of all the vibrational peaks in the rGO derived Ncs, (ZnO/rGO, Ag-ZnO/rGO and Nd-ZnO/ rGO) were found to decrease to a large extent [43]. Moreover, a sharp vibration appeared at 530 cm À1 of the NCs that attributed to vibration region of Zn-O.…”

“…In the C 1s spectra ( Figure S2(a)), three deconvoluted peaks at 284.8, 286.9, and 288.8 eV, can be found in the composites, assignable to the C atoms in C-C, C-O, and C=O groups in GO. By comparing the deconvoluted peaks, it appears that, after loading iron oxide onto GO, the relative intensity of the peak for C-O bonds has been significantly reduced while with the increasing intensity of that for C-C bonds, suggesting the partial conversion of GO to chemically converted graphene (CCG) [51]. Such a conversion may result from the partial reduction of GO by Fe 2+ in the composites.…”
