“…A study on synthesis of AgNPs from C. albicans with antifungal activity against C. albicans has also been reported (Astuti et al 2017). Chemically synthesized AgNPs exhibits low MIC values along with high toxicity and low stability (Pal et al 2007;Kittler et al 2010;Pereira et al, 2014). Recently, anticandidal activity of rod-shaped silver loaded hydroxyapatite nanocomposites has been reported with MIC of 125 µg ml À1 against C. albicans (Gottardo et al 2019).…”

“…Nature provides a rich source of various biological diversity including plants and microorganisms, which shows the ability to synthesize nanoparticles. Among several biological species; various plant extracts, bacteria, algae and fungi have been studied for this action (Elavazhagan and Arunachalam 2011, Govindaraju et al 2009, Pereira et al 2014, Singh et al 2014, 2015a, 2015b, Wang et al 2015. This green route of synthesis minimizes the side effects of chemical and physical methods by avoiding the utilization of toxic chemicals and creating hazardous by products.…”
