Synthesis and investigation of an erbium-containing photosensitive polymer

Abstract: Er organic complexes are generally used in polymer-based optical amplifiers by doping. This study presents a method for creating an Er-containing photosensitive polymer by free radical copolymerization. Two types of Er organic complexes containing polymeric reactivity groups are synthesized and investigated. Er(TTA) 2 (Phen)(MA), which has high photoluminescence, was polymerized with glycidyl 10 methacrylate (GMA) for use as a novel UV-written polymer material. Poly (GMA-co-Er(TTA) 2 (Phen)(MA) were prepared w… Show more

“…Lanthanide complexes with carboxylic acids have been studied extensively because of their interesting photophysical and structural properties [1-6] and due to their potential applications in various fields, e.g., luminescence [6][7][8][9][10], diagnostics [11,13], catalysis [13,14] and materials chemistry [15][16][17][18][19][20]. The lanthanide metals are defined as classical hard acids, and thus have a high affinity to bind with hard donors, for example, ligands containing oxygen atoms especially, carboxylates [8].…”

“…Photosensitive solution-processable materials are considered viable alternative materials that can simplify procedures and reduce the manufacturing costs of large-area electronic applications. 27,28 In particular, solution-processable polyurethane has attracted considerable attention, due to high tensile strength, excellent abrasion resistance and good mechanical properties. 29 In this work, to afford a photosensitive cross-linking solution-processable material, we design and synthesis a novel monomer that contained hydroxy and olen groups.…”
