Synthesis and characterization of UV‐curable ladder‐like polysilsesquioxane

Abstract: Various ladder‐like structured poly(phenyl‐co‐methacryl silsesquioxane)s (LPMSQ)s with high molecular weight (Mw = 10,000 ∼ 40,000) were synthesized by direct hydrolysis and polymerization in the presence of base catalyst at 25 °C. Synthesized LPMSQs mainly showed ladder‐like structure and photo‐cure reaction by 100 mW/cm2 (360 nm) for 10 s without any photo‐cure initiators. Chemical composition and structural analysis of the obtained LPMSQs were characterized using 1H NMR, 29Si NMR, Fourier transform infrared… Show more

“…2). Second halo, the broad one, can be attributed to intermolecular distance (intermolecular chain-to-chain thickness), or it can be the distance between the ladder structures [20,38,39]. In the case of xerogel T/D = 1/1, first halo (approx.…”

“…Their hybrid structure (inorganic double chain backbone and organic side groups) results in a low dielectric constant. They are not only thermally-and chemically resistant but also well soluble in organic solvents and show good film-forming properties, so they are attractive as functional materials [1].…”

“…Two absorption peaks at 1131 and 1040 cm −1 , corresponding to Si-O-Si stretching vibrations, were observed in all samples. The bimodal absorption peaks indicate the formation of ladder-type structures [49][50][51].…”
