Synthesis and characterization of polymer/V2O5 composites based on poly(2‐aminodiphenylamine)

Abstract: Hybrid materials consisting of aniline (ANI) and/or 2-aminodiphenylamine (PD) in the presence of V 2 O 5 nanoparticles were synthesized by in-situ chemical oxidative polymerization in one-step. Physicochemical and electrochemical characterization confirmed that in the structure of the composites, intercalation between the polymer chains and the V 2 O 5 slabs occurs. Optical properties study shows that the optical band gap of poly(ANI-co-PD)/V 2 O 5 is lower than poly-PD/ V 2 O 5. Thermal stability of the compo… Show more

“…Then, 0.56 g of APS, which had been stirred with 30 mL of H 2 O, was added to it. The mixture was then stirred with a magnetic stirrer for another 24 h. Finally, the PANI@TiO 2 -TiC obtained during the centrifugation process was washed several times with H 2 O and C 2 H 5 OH and placed in a dryer at 70 • C overnight [23]. The PANI@TiC was prepared following the same routine for comparison.…”

“…The mixture was stirred for 24 h at room temperature. The next day, the precipitate was collected on a filter paper, washed with distilled H 2 O and acetone, and finally placed in 50 mL of NH 4 OH (1 M) at 25 • C and stirred for 2 h. The final products were filtered, washed with deionized water, and dried under vacuum at 65 • C for 24 h [4,[27][28][29].…”

“…MOs exhibit different electrical behavior that can change from electrically insulating to others such as Al 2 O 3 and MgO, as well as wide-band semiconductors such as SnO 2 , TiO 2 , Ti 2 O 3 , and ZnO, and metal-like behaviors such as ReO 3 , V 2 O 3 , and RuO 2 . The metal oxide presents several stable oxidation states, which play a significant role in the surface chemistry of the obtained copolymer [ 27 ].…”

“…In this context, the homogeneous combination of the conducting polymer matrix and metal oxide particles through strong chemical interactions without any binder resulted in better supercapacitive properties compared to different polymer/metal oxide composite materials prepared based on the oxidative in situ polymerization or physical blending technique, previously reported. [79][80][81][82][83][84][85][86][87] The results prove that this binder-free technique would be an excellent choice for the preparation of novel binary or ternary composite electrode materials, without loss of any active surface area and porosity in the design of high-performance supercapacitors.…”
