Synthesis and Characterization of Novel Azo Disperse Dyes Containing -amino Phosphonate and Their Dyeing Performance on Polyester Fabric

Abstract: T HREE novel azo disperse dyes were designed, synthesized, and characterized by utilizing of α-aminophosphonates chromophores. The target compounds were prepared by employing of benzidine as amine and different heterocyclic formyl as aldehyde, and triphenylphosphite P(OC 6 H 5) 3 that gives a-aminophosphonate in one position and free amino group in the other position, which was then coupled with β-naphthol to give the target products azo disperse dyes. The prepared dyes were structurally confirmed by IR, 1 HNM… Show more

“…All the measurements were occurred at 625 nm wavelength. The corresponding color strength value (K/S) was evaluated by applying the KubelkaMunk equation 53 as follows where R is the decimal fraction of the reflectance of the dyed fabric, R o is the decimal fraction of the reflectance of the undyed fabric, K is the absorption coefficient, and S is the scattering coefficient. 54…”

“…The colorimetric measurement of the dyed samples was measured using a Hunter Lab ultra Scan PRO spectrophotometer. The analogous color strength value (K/S) was assessed by applying the KubelkaMunk equation (1) as follows: normalK/normalS=1R2/2R1normalRnormalo2/2Ro where R is the decimal fraction of the reflectance of the dyed fabric, R o is the decimal fraction of the reflectance of the undyed fabric, K is the absorption coefficient, and S is the scattering coefficient.…”

“…Azo dyes containing thiophene nucleus generally show a wide range of color, which has definite wavelength similar to aniline‐based azo dyes, and characterized by high extinction coefficient . Most of azo dyes have raised several environmental concerns owing to their wide spread, which has been enhanced due to the textile industry revolution of synthetic fibers such as polyester .…”
