Synthesis and Characterization of Linear (CH)8-Bridged Bimetallic Ruthenium Complexes

Abstract: Reactions of HCtCCH 2 CH(OR)CH(OR)CH 2 CtCH (R ) H, MeSO 2 ) with RuHCl(CO)(PPh 3 ) 3 produced [RuCl(CO)(PPh 3 ) 2 ] 2 (µ-CHdCHCH 2 CH(OR)CH(OR)CH 2 CHdCH), which on treatment with PMe 3 gave [RuCl(CO)(PMe 3 ) 3 ] 2 (µ-CHdCHCH 2 CH(OR)CH(OR)CH 2 CHdCH). Treatment of RuHCl(CO)(PPh 3 ) 3 with (3E,5E)-HCtCCHdCHCHdCHCtCH produced [RuCl-(CO)(PPh 3 ) 2 ] 2 (µ-CHdCHCHdCHCHdCHCHdCH). The later complex reacted with PMe 3 , 4-phenylpyridine (PhPy), and 2,6-(Ph 2 PCH 2 ) 2 C 5 H 3 N (PMP) to give [RuCl(CO)(PMe 3 ) 3 ] 2 … Show more

“…These chemicals hifts are close to those found in complexes [RuCl (CO)(PMe 3 ) 3 ] 2 (CH=CH) n . [58,59] The two vinylic protons are trans to each other andt he acetylene underwent cis insertion into the RuÀHb ond, as confirmed by the X-ray structures of 4b-d.…”

“…Uncountable synthetic procedures have been employed to produce highly efficient cobalt oxide materials. [24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32] It has commonly been known that the efficiency is determined by morphology including size, uniformity, and surface states. Motivated by the earlier literature reports, we have here employed spectator metal ions to tailor the morphologies of Co oxides, and to delve into their physical charateristics.…”

“…Reaction of cationic bridging carbyne-iron complexes with metal carbonyl anions was also reported [554]. A dicationic ruthenium-carbene complex (597) was generated from the electrochemical oxidation of polyene-bridged diruthenium complex (596) [555]. Cationic carbene complexes (e.g.…”
