“…A new class of 2,6-pyridine linked bis (oxadiazoles), bis (thiadiazoles), and bis (triazoles) were synthesized by exploiting the synthetic intermediates pyridine-2,6dicarbohydrazide (1), E-aroylethenesulfonylacetic acid (2) and E-arylsulfonylethenesulfonyl-acetic acid (6). The cyclocondensation of 1 mol of compound 1 with 2 mol of 2 in the presence of phosphorus oxychloride under ultrasonication gave 2,6-(bis-2-aroylethene-sulfonylmethyl-1,3,4-oxadiazol-5-yl) pyridine (3). The thiadiazole and triazole rings were developed by the interconversion of oxadiazole with appropriate nucleophiles.…”
