Synthesis and Antihypoxic Activity of γ-L-Glutamylhistamine and Its derivatives

Abstract

Natural endogenous compound g-L-glutamylhistamine (g-GHA) and its analogs g-aminobutyrylhistamine and N b -glutarylhistamine were synthesized using peptide chemistry methods. The experiments in vivo on mice bearing a model of hypoxia with hypercapnia showed that all the synthesized compounds exhibit more or less pronounced antihypoxic activity. The most significant effect (150% relative to control) was observed for g-GHA in a dose of 0.01 mg/kg, which is 2´10 4 times smaller than the effective dose of the reference drug sodium oxybutyrate. 122 0091-150X/05/3903-0122
