Synthesis, 119Sn Mössbauer spectroscopic studies and X-ray crystal structure determination of new seven-coordinate diorganotin(IV) complexes with S,N,N,N,S-pentadentate Schiff bases derived from 2,6-diacetylpyridine of S-methyl- and S-benzyldithiocarbazates

Abstract: The reactions of the ligands 2,6-diacetylpyridine bis(S-methyldithiocarbazate)] (H 2 dapmdtc) and 2,6-diacetylpyridine bis(S-benzyldithiocarbazate)] (H 2 dapbdtc) with R 4-m SnCl m (R = Me, n Bu, Ph; and m=2) led to the formation of six seven-coordinate diorganotin(IV) complexes, which were studied by microanalysis, i.r., n.m.r ( 1 H, 119 Sn) and Mo¨ssbauer spectroscopies. The X-ray structures determination of complexes [Me 2 Sn(dapmdtc)], [Me 2 Sn(dapbdtc)] and [Ph 2 Sn(dapbdtc)] revealed the presence of neut… Show more

“…40-42,57,59,68,83,85,86,96, 106 The lack of a downfield shift in position of the signal attributable to S-CH 3 (d 2.59 ppm in free ligand) suggested little or no participation of the C S group in bonding. 59, 133 The 1 H NMR spectra of SnMe 2 Cl 2 (H 2 cdsalen) and SnMe 2 Cl 2 (Hcdacacen) showed singlets at d 1.22 and 1.21 ppm (6H) for CH 3 -Sn, and the observed 2 J( 119 Sn-1 H) value (71.0/76.5 Hz) 57, 59 is typical of a penta-coordinated dimethyltin(IV) complex. Substitution of the 2 J( 59 Similar results have been reported for other diorganotin(IV) complexes of tridentate ONO donor Schiff bases.…”

“…Free dithiocarbazaic acid and its S-benzyl esters behave typically as NS donorswith formation of a five-membered chelate ring [14,18,19], but SS coordination was also observed making a four-membered chelate ring [19]. However, a change of suitable groups at hydrazine moiety of these compounds can modify the donor sequence of such ligands giving rise to different coordination geometries [2,[20][21][22][23]. The present work represents the coordination behavior of S-benzyl-β-N-(4-benzyloxyphenyl) methylene hydrazine carbodithioate with some transition metal ions and study of their antibacterial activities.…”
