Syntheses, structures, and spectroscopic properties of binuclear copper(II) complexes containing N,N-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)amine ligands

Abstract: Two new m-carboxylato-bridged binuclear copper(II) complexes [Cu 2 (bpea) 2 (m-have been synthesized and structurally determined by X-ray diffraction. Complex 1 is crystallized in a monoclinic space group C2/c with unit cell parameters a ¼ 21.539(17) Å , b ¼ 12.608(10) Å , c ¼ 13.117(11) Å , ¼ 96.788(13) . In 1, each Cu(II) is five-coordinate, squarepyramidal geometry with a CuN 3 O 2 donor set.
