Synthese von 1‐(6‐Isopropyliden‐3‐methyl‐3‐cyclohexen‐1‐yl)‐2‐methyl‐3‐buten‐2‐ol („Humbertiol”︁)

Abstract

Umsetzung von 4-Methyl-1,4-cyclohexadien-l-carbonsaure-methy~ester (2) mit Methyllithium fuhrt zum tertiaren Alkohol 3, der zum Vinylather 4 umgesetzt wird. Claisen-Urnlagerung von 4 gibt den Aldehyd 5, der mit CH3MgJ zum sekundaren Alkohol 6 reagiert. Oxidation von 6 liefert das Keton 7, dessen Reaktion mit Vinyllithium den tertiaren Alkohol 8 ergibt, der jedoch nicht mit dem Sesquiterpen Humbertiol identisch ist. Synthesis:of l-(dIsopropylidene-lmethyl-3-cyclohex~-l-yl)-2-methy~-3-huten-~l (, ,Humbertiol")Treatment of methyl 4-methyl-l,4-cyclohexadiene-l-carboxylate (2) with methyllithium leads to the tertiary alcohol 3, which is etherified to yield the vinyl ether 4. Claisen rearrangement of 4 gives the aldehyde 5, which reacts with CH3MgJ to give the secondary alcohol 6. By oxidation of 6, the ketone 7 is obtained. Reaction of 7 with vinyllithium affords the tertiary alcohol 8, but 8 is different from the sesquiterpene humbertiol. Von
