Similarly, it was reported that swim bladder inflation coincided with the start of feeding activity in freshwater species such as Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus, Mozambique tilapia, Oreochromis mossambicus, and walleye, Stizostedion vitreum (Marty et al 1995;Takemura 1996;Morrison et al 2001) and marine species such as Dover sole, Solea solea and striped trumpeter, Latris lineata (Boulhic and Gabaudan 1992;Trotter et al 2001). However, the timing of inflation in discus larvae was earlier than in many other species; for example, in the mouth-brooder cichlid, Oreochromis mossambicus, it was reported that inflation occurs 7-9 DAH, whereas in walleye and striped trumpeter, swim bladder inflates at 6-12 and 11-20 DAH, respectively.…”
