Sluggish market demand can deteriorate the financial situation of a company and affect a shareholder’s decision to adopt environmental, social, and governance criteria (ESG). According to the socioemotional wealth theory, family firms place significant emphasis on sustainable development and long-term orientation, but this emphasis can be either internally or externally driven according to the type of involvement chosen by the owning family. Therefore, this study uses listed family firms to explore the relationship between different types of family involvement (i.e., family ownership and control, the influence of market competition, and the institutionalisation level of the environment in which a firm decides to pursue ESG criteria). We performed a multivariate regression analysis on a sample of 1,151 Chinese companies to test these relationships and found that both family ownership and control are positively related to ESG scores. Market competition negatively moderates the influence of both family ownership and control on the adoption of ESG criteria. Moreover, the influence of family control is negatively moderated by the institutional environment. Thus, types of family involvement seem to be relevant for the firm’s engagement with ESG criteria.

Supply Chain Management is in the core of businesses’ operational activities worldwide. Its main purpose is the proper management of resources and the assurance of the sustainable operation of the economic entities. However, Supply Chain Management is exposed to breaches related to the code of conduct as well as fraud. Integrating the principles of Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) can help build a healthy, sustainable, and resilient supply chain. The purpose of the research is twofold and refers to: (i) highlight those factors of the ESG that contribute to the decrease and mitigation of the fraud in supply chain and (ii) the business strategies that can be developed from businesses and can be based on ESG factors. In this context, a log-log model of multiple linear regression was proposed. Secondary data were extracted from the Thomson Reuters database. The model was based on 681 observations concerning companies operating in Europe. The results have led to the conclusion that the existence of policies related to human resources and technology contribute significantly to tackling supply chain fraud. Regarding the first factor, Human Resource is important to feel safe and their rights should be protected by companies. Securing their rights can lead individuals to their commitment to the work environment, as well as to their protection from threats and violations. Finally, the role of technology is fully consistent with transparency in the supply chain. For this reason, the adoption of reliable solutions and technologies, which turn to the green economy, offer visibility and optimization of processes.

The wine industry has grown in recent years causing many of the companies in the sector to improve their processes. When it comes to medium and large industrial facilities, there are always some well-known methodologies that are adopted to boost their growth and minimize logistics costs. While, in the case of PYMEs, there is no provision as such to apply any Lean Manufacturing or process management technique. The case study is Bodega Peru SAC, which presents difficulties in fulfilling the perfect order due to deficiencies in its logistics processes. The purpose of this study is based on properly managing the Supply Chain to increase its performance and reduce logistic costs. The processes that cause bottlenecks or have high error rates have been identified in the case study. Likewise, the study is based on information from researchers for the analysis of supply chain processes related to the industry.
