Objetivo: Analisar os potenciais do investimento estrangeiro direto (IED) para a sustentabilidade da infraestrutura, com base nos projetos de concessão do Programa de Parcerias de Investimentos (PPI) do Governo do Brasil. Método: Metodologia de pesquisa descritiva para atender ao objetivo da pesquisa, tendo sido realizada uma análise documental sobre 89 projetos de concessão leiloados ao longo de sete anos. Principais resultados: O IED demonstrou ter desempenhado um papel crucial na consolidação de projetos de concessão no setor de infraestrutura do Brasil, apesar da falta de compromisso explícito com práticas sustentáveis, revelando um potencial inexplorado para atrair IED e promover o desenvolvimento sustentável. Relevância / Originalidade: A relevância acadêmica do estudo está em ressaltar a complexidade e a evolução do desempenho dos setores de infraestrutura em termos de sustentabilidade, sobre a qual a tarefa de avaliar os projetos se torna desafiadora sem critérios objetivos, ferramentas e metas factíveis. Contribuições Teóricas / Metodológicas: O estudo colaborou para enfatizar a necessidade de considerar a sustentabilidade desde as fases iniciais dos projetos de concessão e de compor um framework que englobe projetos e avaliação. Contribuições Sociais / para a Gestão: O comprometimento da alta administração e o apoio governamental são fatores fundamentais para o sucesso da implementação de práticas sustentáveis na infraestrutura, identificando a necessidade da revisão dos processos de seleção de fornecedores a fim de incorporar critérios de sustentabilidade de forma adequada.

PurposeBased on the job-demands resources model, this study examines the potential of human resource management practices to simultaneously improve physicians' burnout and quality of patient care during the COVID-19 pandemic.Design/methodology/approachDrawing on a sample of 499 physicians working in specialised medical units, structural equation models through PLS-SEM was used to check the proposed hypotheses.FindingsThe results show that human resource management can reduce physicians' burnout and increase quality of patient care by considering job demands and job resources as mediators. In addition, this study suggests that burnout and quality of patient care can be improved simultaneously.Research limitations/implicationsThis research is focused on healthcare, which opens important opportunities to extend the proposed model in other public and private industries.Practical implicationsManagers need to understand that fostering well-being among employees is crucial for human resource management and impacts positively on employee performance.Originality/valueThis study offers a double mediation process whereby job demands and job resources are key underlying mechanisms through which human resource management practices reduce burnout and improve performance in a compatible way.

To contribute to a better understanding of the determinants of climate-friendly organizational behavior, we study the potential of behavioral policy interventions and social norms to foster individual contributions to organizational decarbonization initiatives. We investigate the effects of different types of behavioral policy interventions (default nudges vs. short-term boosts) in isolation and when they are combined with normative appeals to adopt climate-friendly behaviors in an organizational context. In a 2 × 2 between-subjects experiment, we find that default nudges generally induced higher individual contributions to organizational carbon compensation programs than short-term boosts. Moreover, injunctive social norm information decreased the effectiveness of both types of behavioral interventions but affected the effectiveness of short-term boosts to a stronger extent than the effectiveness of default nudges. Contributing to the nascent literature on motivating climate change mitigating behaviors in organizational contexts, we additionally explore whether factors such as personality traits, pro-social and pro-environmental beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors, and the degree of organizational identification exert an influence on the effectiveness of the interventions and provide qualitative insights into participants’ reasoning for their decisions.
