In inertial fusion energy (IFE) research, a considerable attention has recently been focused on the issue of large target fabrication for MJ-class laser facilities. The ignition and high-gain target designs require a condensed uniform layer of hydrogen fuel on the inside of a spherical shell. In this report, we discuss the current status and further trends in the area of developing the layering techniques intended to produce ignition, and layering techniques proposed to high repetition rate and mass production of IFE targets.

Производство и доставка криогенного водородного топлива с высокой точностью и частотой является непременным условием построения фабрики криогенных мишеней (ФКМ) для обеспечения работы реактора на основе ИТС. Перспективным путём решения поставленной задачи является реализация метода FST, предложенного и развитого в Физическом институте им. П.Н. Лебедева (ФИАН). Метод FST (работа с движущимися бесподвесными мишенями) является уникальным и не имеет аналогов в мире. Дальнейшее развитие технологий на его основе осуществляется в рамках программы по созданию модульного варианта ФКМ и коммерциализации полученных результатов. В ФИАН предложена оригинальная концепция ФКМ (ФКМ-ФИАН), которая имеет следующие отличительные особенности: использование FST-технологий для поточного производства криогенных мишеней; использование квантовой левитации ВТСП в магнитном поле с целью построения систем доставки типа «маглев» для бесконтактного манипулирования, позиционирования и транспорта криогенных мишеней; использование фурье-голографии в системе диагностики on-line движущихся криогенных мишеней. В работе представлены результаты большого цикла экспериментальных и теоретических исследований, продемонстрировавших, что в России создана уникальная научная, инженерная и технологическая база для построения опытного образца ФКМ-ФИАН для непрерывного формирования криоген-ных топливных мишеней и их высокочастотной доставки в камеру реактора ИТС.Ключевые слова: инерциальный термоядерный синтез (ИТС), поточное производство мишеней на основе метода FST (freestanding target), высокотемпературные сверхпроводники (ВТСП), магнитная левитация (маглев), фурье-голография, фабрика криогенных мишеней. CRYOGENIC HYDROGEN FUEL FOR CONTROLLED INERTIAL CONFINEMENT FUSION (CONCEPT OF CRYOGENIC TARGET FACTORY BASED ON FST-LAYERING METHOD)I. A central element of an inertial confinement fusion (ICF) power plant is a target with cryogenic hydrogen fuel that must be delivered to the target chamber center with high accuracy and frequency Therefore, the cryogenic target factory (CTF) is of an integral part of any ICF reactor. A promising path to solve the issue is the FST layering method developed at the Lebedev Physical Institute (LPI). This method (rapid fuel layering inside moving free-standing targets) is a unique and has no analogs in the world. Further FST-technologies development is realizing in the scope of LPI program on creation of modular CTF and commercialization of the obtained results. In this report, we discuss our concept of CTF (CTF-LPI), wich has the following distinctive features: using FST-technologies for elaboration of the flow line production of cryogenic targets using quantum levitation of high-temperature superconductors (HTSC) in magnetic field (maglev) for non-contacting manipulation, transport and positioning of the free-standing cryogenic targets, using Fourier holography for on-line characterization and tracking of a flying targets in the reactor chamber.
